Historical GIS datafiles

The MPIDR Population History GIS Collection supports demographic and socioeconomic research by filling gaps in the European GIS-data-infrastructure on historical national and regional administrative boundaries and historical place names (project information page)

The data provided on this page can be freely used for non-commercial scientific purposes, as long as you register as a user with the Mosaic project and the source of the data is properly cited. Citation information is available in the data files.
